The P 14 rootstock belongs to the semi-dwarf group. Its vigor is approximately 54% of the vigor of trees grafted on Antonovka vulgaris seedlings. In nursery studies, it was noted that trees on this rootstock show good development, have a larger trunk diameter and height, and branch better compared to the M.26 rootstock.
This rootstock is intended for growing grafted commercial apple varieties. Due to its characteristics, it promotes earlier onset of fruit bearing in trees. P 14 is part of a series of rootstocks of Polish breeding developed at the Research Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice.
