Pure 1 belongs to the group of dwarfing rootstocks; in terms of its effect on scion growth, it is comparable to B.9 and M.9 rootstocks. It is characterized by high productivity, promotes earlier onset of bearing and early fruit ripening, but may lead to a decrease in average fruit weight.
This rootstock propagates easily. Due to the dwarfing nature of growth, trees grafted onto Pure 1 require mandatory installation of support to prevent leaning. The rootstock is intended for use in nurseries for the establishment of intensive commercial orchards.
