Rootstock 62-396 ensures the development of dwarf trees, the size of which is about 41–45% of the vigor of trees on Antonovka ordinary seedling rootstock. Varieties grafted onto this rootstock enter into fruiting in the 2nd–3rd year.
Characterized by high winter hardiness, significantly exceeding the performance of the M9 rootstock, and high resistance to diseases. The root system is fibrous, brittle, and shallow, which requires the use of additional support for trees, despite more reliable anchorage in the soil compared to M9. Possesses good compatibility with most apple varieties.
