An adult tree reaches a height of 4–6 meters and has a broad, spreading, semi-weeping crown shape. The foliage is dark purple in color, which changes to a copper hue in the autumn period.
Flowering occurs in April–May and is characterized by an abundance of large pinkish-red or purple-pink flowers. The variety forms many small purple fruits that remain on the branches for a long time and are intended exclusively for ornamental purposes.
The plant possesses high winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -40°C, and is resistant to scab. It is used in landscape design as a specimen tree or for creating avenues.
