Trees of this variety have high growth vigor, a dense canopy with upright branches, and enter production in the third year. Small fruits ripen late and are gathered in clusters. The variety is characterized by a low rooting ability, which complicates its propagation in nurseries.
The variety is highly adaptive to drought and capable of growing in regions with minimal precipitation; it also exhibits moderate salt tolerance, however, it is sensitive to olive knot (Pseudomonas savastanoi). It is self-compatible, flowers early, and produces a large amount of pollen.
The oil content of the fruits is 23–27%. The resulting oil possesses a mild taste with fruity notes and an increased content of saturated fatty acids, due to which it can thicken at temperatures below 12°C. Genetically, the variety is identical to the olive variety Zalmati.
