The variety is a traditional local Greek cultivar adapted to the microclimate of the Chalkidiki region. The tree is described as vigorous and demanding in terms of growing conditions. The name of the variety translates as "thick olive" and can be applied to various large-fruited varieties in different parts of Greece.
The fruits have a cylindrical-conical shape, bright green color at the technical maturity stage, and firm, crunchy flesh. The flesh-to-pit ratio is approximately 6:1. The harvest is collected early, from mid-September to mid-October. In addition to table use, the variety is used for oil production.
