ActiveOlea europaea L. · Olive

10 August 2026
The tree is characterized by high vigor and large size, often reaching a height of over 15 meters. The crown is voluminous, with long and thin branches, which gives the plant a characteristic weeping appearance. The variety is characterized by late flowering and a prolonged fruit ripening period, which complicates mechanized harvesting.
The variety is sensitive to a number of diseases, including the olive moth, olive leaf spot, and olive knot, and also poorly tolerates excessive soil moisture and strong sea winds. Productivity is high, but it has a tendency towards biennial bearing.
The fruits are used exclusively for oil production. The oil yield averages 25%, reaching up to 36%. The resulting product has a golden-yellow color with greenish hues, and possesses an aroma of almonds, moderate fruity notes, a bitter taste, and a spicy aftertaste.
