The "Chiquitita" variety is distinguished by a specific shrubby habit and a compact crown with weeping branches. The origin of the variety is linked to the breeding program of the University of Cordoba and IFAPA, where it was obtained by crossing the Picual and Arbequina varieties.
Due to its compact form, the variety is suitable for intensive orchards with high planting density. The plant is well adapted to mechanized harvesting using over-the-row harvesters.
