The variety is the result of folk selection and is adapted to the climatic conditions of the Chalkidiki region. The olives have a cylindrical-conical shape with a characteristic convex tip and a weight of 4 to 14 grams. A high flesh-to-pit ratio makes them in demand for canning, while the variety is also used for early harvest oil production.
The harvest of green fruits usually falls in the period from September to October. Trees of the variety are characterized by medium winter hardiness and high productivity. The olive oil obtained from the fruits is distinguished by a high content of phenolic compounds and oleic acid.
