The variety is a historical cultivar adapted to the conditions of the Bari province and is often identified with the Ogliarola Barese variety. In oil production, the variety is a key component for products with the Protected Designation of Origin Terra di Bari.

The oil obtained from the fruits of this variety has an intense yellow color with greenish hues. Organoleptically, it is characterized by a balanced taste with a fruity aroma, notes of fresh grass, slight bitterness, piquancy, and a residual almond aftertaste.
