The Gentile Grande variety is a local cultivar grown in Italy, specifically in the Umbria region in the Tiber River valley. This plant is used for the production of olive oil, including monovarietal.
The variety belongs to the first genetic incompatibility group (G1). It is self-incompatible and requires cross-pollination with varieties from another group (G2) for fruit formation.
The name of the variety should not be confused with other Italian varieties containing the word «Gentile» in their name, such as Gentile di Larino or Gentile di Chieti, as they are genetically distinct plants.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
