The variety is a local traditional ecotype that has been cultivated in the Basilicata region for a long time. It belongs to the category of autochthonous varieties and is adapted to the climatic conditions of the region.

The plant has a medium fruit ripening period. The olive oil obtained from the fruits is characterized by balanced medium-intensity fruity notes with hints of fresh grass, artichoke, and almond, as well as the presence of light bitterness.
