The tree has medium vigor, a spreading crown, and strong, often drooping branches. The leaves are lanceolate, narrow, and gray-green. The variety enters production early, but is characterized by low yields and alternate bearing.
The fruits are very large, weighing from 6 to 15 g, and have an elliptical, slightly asymmetrical shape. When ripening, the color changes from green to wine-red and purple-black. The oil has a fruity taste with notes of almond, artichoke, and tomato leaf, while the oil yield is considered relatively low.
Early ripening variety, partially self-compatible. Sensitive to drought, olive knot, and peacock spot. Propagates well by cuttings. Recommended pollinators: Ascolana Tenera, Nocellara Etnea, Tonda Iblea, Nocellara del Belice, and Passalunara.
