The Gileta variety is autochthonous to the Valencian Community and is included in the list of varieties permitted for the production of oil with a protected designation of origin in this region. Trees are characterized by high vigor, a spreading crown type, and medium vegetative density.

The variety has high productivity and forms fruits with high mass. Resistance to the fungal leaf disease known as peacock spot (repilo) is rated as medium.
