The variety is native to the Córdoba region, Spain, and is grown in the Sierra Morena area. It is used within the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Montoro-Adamuz and belongs to oil varieties.
Oil from the fruit is characterized by high storage stability, an intense fruity aroma with notes of green leaf and ripe fruit, and a pronounced bitterness and pungency in flavor. The variety is suitable for early harvesting, beginning in mid-October.
A biological feature of the variety is a high concentration of biologically active substances, in particular oleocanthal and other polyphenols.
