The tree has an ascending growth habit and medium vigor; the canopy is dense and compact. The shape of the fruit varies from ellipsoidal to spheroidal, often with asymmetry, a subconical apex, and a slightly flattened or rounded base. Lenticels are present on the skin and are of medium size; there is no bloom.
The variety is characterized by good and consistent yields and is classified as late-maturing. It is grown mainly in the province of Avellino, Campania region, and has the synonym Carpinetana. Literature notes the variety's susceptibility to Strawberry latent ringspot virus.
