The OLIVIELLO tree has a vertical growth habit, medium vigor, and a dense, compact crown. The fruit color during ripening varies from green to dark purple, almost black. The fruit skin is glossy, has no waxy bloom, and is covered with small lenticels.
The variety is intended primarily for olive oil production, with a yield of 19–20%. The plant is autochthonous to the Campania and Molise regions, although in scientific literature the name often appears as a synonym for other varieties, such as Oliva Tonda, or as a collective designation for local populations.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
