The Casaliva variety (synonym Casalino) originates from the Lake Garda region. The plant has high growth vigor, an open crown shape of medium density, and medium-sized elliptical leaves.
The fruits are small, weighing less than 2 grams, and acquire a black-violet color upon ripening. The variety is characterized by a late, prolonged ripening period and reaches fruiting at a medium time, demonstrating high and regular productivity.
The plant is self-compatible; however, to improve yield, it is recommended to plant pollinator varieties such as Rossanello, Trepp, and Grignan. The variety is sensitive to cold and susceptible to olive knot (Pseudomonas savastanoi), leaf spot, and the olive fruit fly.
