Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is autochthonous and has been cultivated in the vicinity of the city of Bitetto and neighboring communes since ancient times. The fruits of this variety are distinguished by their large size and rounded shape, which is why they are often called apple olives.

During the harvest, the fruit color ranges from intense green to light purple. The flesh is described as tender, crispy, and fleshy; it separates easily from the pit. The taste is balanced and moderately pronounced, with light fruity and nutty notes.
