The variety is versatile and is used for both table olive production and olive oil extraction. A distinctive feature is the process of natural fruit ripening on the tree, during which they lose bitterness and acquire a sweet flavor, making them suitable for consumption as a delicacy.
The plant possesses good drought tolerance and is capable of growing at high altitudes. A characteristic feature is the resistance of the fruits to olive fruit fly infestation, however, the tree itself shows susceptibility to olive knot (tuberculosis).
In the market, the fruits of this variety are often encountered under the name "throumbes". In addition to the natural preparation method, the fruits can undergo artificial debittering using salt.
