Tonda Iblea is an autochthonous Sicilian variety suitable for both oil production and table use. The tree is resistant to low temperatures and the olive fruit fly; for optimal fruit set, it requires the planting of pollinator varieties. The oil is characterized by a fruity aroma with notes of tomato, grass, and artichoke.

Tonda di Cagliari, also known as Nera di Gonnos, is widespread in Sardinia. It is a tree of medium vigor with a medium-early fruit ripening period; the fruits turn black by the end of the ripening period. The variety has dual-purpose use and produces an oil with a delicate fruity aroma and a balanced taste.
