Variety description

10 August 2026

Tonda Iblea trees possess high growth vigor and an upright crown type. The fruits are characterized as very large, having an elliptical symmetrical shape with a rounded apex.

The variety has good yield, however, it may exhibit alternate bearing. The plant is resistant to low temperatures and certain fungal diseases, such as Mal del Piombo, but is susceptible to Verticillium wilt, scale insects, and the fungus Spilocaea oleaginea (Occhio di Pavone).

The oil obtained from this variety has low acidity and distinct aromas of freshly cut grass, artichoke, and green tomato.
