The Terza Grande variety is autochthonous to Sardinia and has the synonym Nera di Villacidro. The tree has medium vigor and a medium-spreading crown. The plant is characterized as hardy and undemanding.
The fruits have a mass of 4.5–5 g, a spherical shape with a rounded apex, and a surface with large lenticels. Ripening occurs late, in December-January. The variety is primarily used for oil production.
