The variety is of Italian origin and is historically distributed in the Abruzzo and Molise regions. The tree is characterized by high vigor, an open canopy of medium density, and early flowering. The variety is self-incompatible, requires pollinators, and produces a small amount of pollen.
The fruits are large, weighing about 4 g, oval-shaped and slightly asymmetrical, acquiring a wine-green color upon ripening. The pulp-to-pit ratio is about 6, and the oil yield reaches 19%. Due to low attachment strength, the fruits are prone to dropping, so the harvest is often collected before full maturity.
The variety is characterized by high yield with pronounced alternate bearing. The plant has good resistance to low temperatures, however, it shows sensitivity to the disease olive knot.
