Variety description

Compact, densely branched shrub with a height and crown width from 0.8 to 1 meter. Characterized by 5–10 cm long elliptical leaves with serrated margins, which change color from bright purple on young shoots to dark black as they grow.

Flowering occurs in May–June with white flowers gathered in corymbose inflorescences; red fruits ripen on the bush from July. The plant has winter hardiness down to -30°C and is suitable for use as a solitary plant, in small gardens, and for planting in containers.
