The rootstock was selected from the 'Marasca di Vigo' biotype. Trees on this rootstock are characterized as semi-dwarfing, reducing the vigor of grafted varieties by approximately 30% compared to sweet cherry seedlings. The root system is moderately developed and provides good anchorage, although there is a tendency to produce root suckers.
The plant adapts well to heavy, poorly permeable, and calcareous soils, is resistant to nematodes, and is suitable for replant conditions. It possesses tolerance to Phytophthora and Verticillium wilt, is moderately sensitive to Armillaria, and has low sensitivity to bacterial canker.
The use of this rootstock contributes to increased yields as well as improved size, color, and sugar content of the scion fruits. It can also be used for grafting plum, which leads to a 15–20% reduction in tree vigor compared to the 'Myrobalan B' rootstock.
