The rootstock is a complex interspecific hybrid, including genes of sweet cherry (Prunus avium), sour cherry (Prunus cerasus), and dwarf cherry (Prunus fruticosa). Its use allows for significantly restricting the growth of grafted trees, imparting dwarf characteristics.
The plant is characterized by a spreading branching type. When used in orchards, a tendency of grafted trees to produce root suckers has been noted, as well as moderate sensitivity of the rootstock to high soil pH levels.
