The rootstock variety C.679 is characterized by strong vigor, which contributes to the formation of robust trees. It shows good compatibility with most European plum varieties and is capable of adapting to heavy and calcareous soils, as well as tolerating short-term excess moisture.
When using this rootstock, trees may enter the fruiting period later compared to dwarf analogues. Historically, the breeding of this clone was aimed at creating conditions for efficient mechanized harvesting in commercial orchards.
