Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety Belle de Bruxelles has a number of synonyms, including Belle sans pépins, Belle et Bonne, and Deutsche Nationalbergamotte. Its origin is associated with Germany around 1800, and the variety also became widespread in Belgium.

The fruits ripen in the early autumn period. Harvesting is recommended to be carried out gradually, in several stages. The variety is considered quite reliable and hardy, which is why it is preserved in collections of heirloom garden crops, although it is not used in modern industrial fruit growing.
