The variety is the result of folk selection and originates from the commune of Bonarcado in the province of Oristano. The tree has medium vigor and a spreading crown, characterized by late flowering and high yield.
The medium-sized fruits have a characteristic apple shape and straw-yellow skin. The flesh is bright white, and the fruits have a pronounced aroma. Harvesting takes place in the first ten days of September; traditionally, the variety was used for local consumption.
