Variety description

The variety is represented by large fruits of a broadly pyriform or almost quince-like shape with a knobby surface. The skin is green, acquiring a yellowish tint upon ripening. The flesh is white, melting, and of a sweet taste with a spicy nutmeg tone.

The tree is characterized by medium or vigorous growth and the formation of numerous short fruit-bearing twigs. The variety is a winter one; the fruits are consumed in December–January. The plant is demanding of growing conditions, requires warm sites with rich, moist soils, and is susceptible to pear scab.
