CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The tree is vigorous, forming a pyramidal, broad, or spreading crown. Fruits are medium to large in size, weighing 170–230 g, with a broad-pyriform, bumpy shape. Fruit color at harvest is green, turning light yellow with visible subcutaneous dots upon ripening.
The flesh is white, tender, melting, and juicy, possessing a sweet-and-sour taste with slight astringency. The variety is characterized as late-winter: fruit harvesting is carried out in October, consumer maturity occurs in December, and storage is possible until February.
The variety is demanding of a warm climate for the accumulation of flavor qualities, possesses low winter hardiness, and is susceptible to scab. In a number of regions, it can be used as a pollinator for other pear varieties.
