Variety description

10 August 2026

The Harbo variety is the result of breeding that began at the institute in Holovousy and was completed in Techobuzice. The tree has a medium or vigorous habit with a semi-upright crown and weak branching. The variety is characterized by regular bearing, in which fruits are formed mainly on spurs both singly and in clusters.

The fruits have a broad conical shape and medium or large size; in the absence of fruit thinning, they can reach 0.5 kg. The skin is yellow-green, matte, with partial russeting. The flesh is yellowish-white, juicy, of a buttery consistency, and has a sweet-and-sour taste.

The variety has medium resistance to scab and frost; it is recommended for cultivation in warm, protected areas with good moisture levels. During heavy harvests, fruit thinning is recommended to maintain fruit quality.
