The Pastorale de Louain tree is characterized by medium-vigorous growth, while compatibility with quince rootstocks is assessed as unsatisfactory. Flowering occurs in the mid-season, in the interval between the Conference and Druard varieties.
The variety is distinguished by early onset of bearing, producing abundant and regular yields. The fruits form large or very large, reaching a mass of 230–350 g, have a round-ovoid shape and firm skin. The plant is prone to forming parthenocarpic fruits and possesses resistance to Pear decline.
