The tree is characterized by vigorous growth at a young age, with growth slowing down over time. The crown is formed high, in a conical shape, with characteristic drooping branches.

The fruits are large, elongated, and bottle-shaped. The skin is green-yellow, often covered with a brownish blush or russet streaks. The flesh has a yellowish tint, is juicy, and the taste is rated as moderately sweet with tart or wine-like notes.

The variety has abundant yields, however, it is prone to alternate bearing. Historically widespread in Europe, it is currently more common in old orchards or collection plantings and is suitable for cultivation in warm regions.
