The variety is an autumn one; the fruits ripen in mid-September, and their consumption period falls in November and December. The fruits are large, firm, intended for dessert, and are also used for making traditional fruit syrups and beverages.

The tree is self-infertile and requires pollinators. The variety is adapted to sandy, loamy, and clay soils and prefers sunny locations. In literature, it is mentioned as an old variety, potentially susceptible to scab.
