Variety description

The plant forms a dense, rounded shrub with a height of 75 to 120 cm. The leaves are elliptic, glossy, and dark green, taking on a purple or bronze tint during the winter period. The flowers are single, bright scarlet, reaching 3 cm in diameter.

The variety is repeat-blooming: the main flowering occurs in spring, followed by periodic flowering in summer and autumn. It is recommended for cultivation in USDA hardiness zones 6–10. The plant prefers acidic, well-drained soils and partial shade, while tolerating more sun than traditional azaleas.

In studies, the variety was noted as susceptible to Phytophthora root rot. The variety is used in landscape design for creating borders, hedges, mass plantings, and container cultivation.
