Variety description

Deciduous shrub with a broad crown shape. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth, reaching 1.5 m in height and 1.8 m in width by 10 years of age, and 3.2 m in height and 3 m in width by 20 years of age. Leaves are elliptical, large, reaching 15 cm in length and 5 cm in width, green on the top and light green on the underside.

Flowers are bright yellow, large, about 8 cm in diameter, have slightly wavy petal edges and a light fragrance. Rounded inflorescences contain up to 17 flowers. The flowering period occurs from late May to early June.

The variety is winter-hardy. It prefers sunny locations and acidic, moist, well-drained, humus-rich soils, such as light loams or sandy loams. Used in single plantings, groups, and for urban landscaping.
