The variety is an evergreen shrub with a dense crown, reaching a height of 1.2–1.5 m and a width of 1.2 m. The foliage is dark green, glossy, elliptic in shape, and may acquire a bronze hue in winter.
The flowers are large and have varied coloration: the base background can be white or light purple with stripes and spots of dark purple color. Both variegated and solid-colored flowers may be present on a single bush.
The plant is relatively frost-hardy (USDA zones 6–10) and possesses resistance to lace bugs. It tolerates sunlight well but develops best when protected from the midday heat. It is used in landscape design for solitary and mass plantings, and for creating hedges and borders.
