Evergreen shrub with a symmetrical crown, reaching a height and width of about 2 meters by 20 years of age. The variety was obtained by crossing the varieties Scandinavia and Mrs Philip Martineau.
Large funnel-shaped flowers are gathered in dome-shaped inflorescences of 14–24 pieces. The buds have a deep purple-red color; the opening flowers are deep purple-pink with a dark red spot on the upper petal and white anthers. Flowering occurs in June, with potential for partial re-blooming in the autumn.
The variety possesses good winter hardiness and adaptability to adverse soil conditions. Intended for ornamental gardening.
