The variety was developed at the Agricultural Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Martonvásár. It is widely represented in international genetic resource registries and is often used in agronomic trials as a control or reference sample.
In scientific literature, the variety is studied for resistance to abiotic factors, including drought tolerance, as well as for photoperiod sensitivity and vernalization requirements. Assessments of its reaction to common bunt (Tilletia caries) have been conducted.
Morphological and economic characteristics of the variety, such as plant height and yield indicators, are analyzed in publications primarily within cluster groups of genetic diversity, without highlighting individual varietal parameters.
