The variety has ancient origins and is derived from the wild grapevines of the region. It possesses high wood and vine durability, as well as good fruit keeping quality. It is classified as a mid-to-late ripening variety; harvesting in the main cultivation zones often falls in the second half of October.
Morphologically, the variety is characterized by leaves with unique dimorphism, medium-sized bunches, and oval berries. The plant requires trellising and is suitable for traditional vine training methods, such as Guyot.
Wines produced from this variety are distinguished by fresh acidity, moderate tannins, and intense aromas of red berries, spices, menthol, and black pepper.
