The Malvasia Roja variety, also known as Malvasia roja de l'Estruc or Malvasia de Navàs, is a historic local grape variety. It is the subject of study and preservation within programs for the maintenance of genetic diversity.
The plant belongs to medium-ripening varieties. The variety forms small clusters with medium-sized, round berries that have a reddish tint. The grapes are used to produce aromatic, golden-colored wines with high alcohol content.
A wine grape variety historically cultivated in the Bages and Anoia regions of Spain. The crop possesses high resistance to downy mildew.
