The variety is a natural hybrid, genetically unrelated to most other varieties in the Malvasia group. The leaf is medium, rounded, five-lobed, with dense cobwebby pubescence on the underside. The flower is hermaphroditic. The bunch is medium or large, cylindrical-conical, often dense. Berries are greenish-yellow, medium-sized, rounded.

The plant has medium vigor. The variety demonstrates low resistance to fungal diseases: it is moderately susceptible to downy mildew, but highly prone to powdery mildew and grey mold. It does not tolerate severe frosts well; flowering is prone to ovary shedding, which leads to unstable yields.

Technical characteristics of the berries include a sugar content of 18–24 g/100 cm³ and an acidity of 5.5–7.5 g/dm³. Wines produced from this variety have a fruity aroma with notes of nutmeg, molasses, beeswax, and smoky hints.
