Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is the result of a natural cross between Cabernet Franc and Magdeleine noire des Charentes. The vines are vigorous, especially on fertile soils. The leaves are dark green, five-lobed, and often have a funnel-shaped curvature. The clusters are medium-sized, cylindro-conical, and medium-dense. The berries are medium-sized, round, dark blue with a waxy bloom, and have thin, tough skin and juicy flesh.

The period from bud break to technical maturity is 152–164 days. The variety possesses relative resistance to downy mildew, but is highly susceptible to powdery mildew and prone to gray mold due to its thin skin. It is sensitive to spring and winter frosts and prefers well-drained clay soils.
