Variety description

The variety is an interspecific hybrid containing genetic material of Vitis vinifera, Vitis amurensis, Vitis berlandieri, and Vitis rupestris. The plant is characterized by medium vigor, cuneate five-lobed leaves without pubescence, and cylindrical clusters of medium density weighing about 160 g. The berries are round, dark blue, with juicy pulp and thin skin.

Technical maturity occurs one month earlier than that of the Merlot variety. The variety possesses high resistance to oidium and resistance to downy mildew, while being able to withstand frosts down to -22...-24 °C. Sugar content of the berries usually exceeds 20%, and titratable acidity is about 6 g/l. The peculiarities of the variety include a tendency toward flower abscission and sensitivity to magnesium deficiency.
