The variety is characterized by vigorous vine growth and good adaptation to various soil types, preferring calcareous and clay soils. Leaves are medium-sized, five-lobed, with pubescence on the underside. Clusters are medium-sized, conical in shape, often with wings. Berries are black, round, medium or small.
Ripening occurs late, usually in late September or early October. The variety requires careful pruning to control yield levels. It is used exclusively for wine production, which possesses distinct acidity and aromas of cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, and plum.
