Cagnina di Romagna is a red sweet DOC wine from the Emilia-Romagna region. It is based on the Terrano grape variety, which accounts for at least 85% of the composition and was historically introduced to the region from Istria or Dalmatia. This grape is classified as an industrial variety and is used for the production of young dessert wines.

In some cases, the name Cagnina serves as a synonym for the Canaiolo (Canaiolo Nero) variety. This is an ancient Italian industrial variety, common primarily in Tuscany. It is traditionally used in blends, in particular for the production of Chianti, where it acts as a component that softens tannins and gives the drink a characteristic fruity aroma.
