Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is autochthonous and presumably originated from a cross between Albariño and Azal Tinto. The growing cycle is long, and bud burst occurs early or mid-season. Bunches and berries are small in size and round in shape.

The plant is demanding in terms of care and susceptible to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and botrytis bunch rot. It produces a low yield, which requires meticulous work in the vineyard to achieve optimal maturity.

Wines made from this variety are characterized by high intensity of apple and floral aromas, pronounced acidity, structure, and aging potential. The variety is used both in varietal wines and in blends with Albariño, Treixadura, and Loureira.
