Variety description

The variety is divided into two main biotypes: Falanghina Flegrea and Falanghina Beneventana. The plant leaf is medium or small in size, predominantly five-lobed, slightly cleft. Bunches are medium or large, conical or cylindrical-conical in shape, dense or medium-dense.

Berries are medium-sized, round in shape, and yellow-green in color with a golden hue, covered with a thin waxy bloom. The variety belongs to the medium-late group; harvesting is carried out in September–October. The plant shows drought tolerance but possesses weak resistance to fungal diseases, such as downy mildew and rots.

Wines from this variety are distinguished by a straw-yellow color, pronounced acidity and minerality, with aromas of white flowers, citrus, pear, apple, and peach. The variety is most widely distributed in the Campania region.
